About Amilonga

The Genesis of Amilonga

The concept of Amilonga emerged from a conversation between three tango amigas. They wanted to add more to the Albuquerque tango scene: more nights of dancing; more opportunities to socialize; and more ways to build community. They wanted an intimate environment in which tango dancers could share their dance, get to know each other and make new connections. The name Amilonga implies friends and friendships, a place where friends meet and friendships are strengthened. Amilonga invites everyone attending to use the codigos to create harmony in our dance. Largely traditional, welcoming and friendly are adjectives describing the tango experience you will have at Amilonga.
